Typhoon Morakot which hit Taiwan last August 8, 2009 left behind marks of destruction and damages. News in Taiwan account the number of casualties and damages caused by typhoon Morakot.

As the weather becomes clearer, the accounted number of deaths, injured and missing residents caused by typhoon Morakot continues to rise.

Hundreds of people in the central and southern Taiwan lost their houses, family members and means of living. It will take lots of help and courage to rebuild their lives again.
